WOW!! and WOW!!

This is HUGE news in the Linux Audio Video world! Thanks VERY much for
your perseverance in getting the full UI support, The ability of LV2
to have sophisticated UI's is really what sets it apart from it's
LADSPA predecessor although the host basic UI that GG had developed
was handy to tweak parameters and access the DSP the ability for full
UI support can really intuitively enhance the users ability to see
what they are tweaking. The whole complexity of getting UI's to work
is still a bit of an issue in the Linux Audio world where people
getting started with Audio plugins tend to develop LV2 plugins with
large toolkits like GTK and QT and writing hosts for these plugins and
their UI components becomes convoluted as GG I'm sure will agree. More
and more LV2 developers are migrating to 'simpler' lower level
underlying libraries like Xlib and OpenGL. It would be great in time
to see more UI types supported, in my experience very few LV2 plugins
that would be useful in Cin are developed with QT UI's so that is
probably not worth pursuing at all.. Anyway before getting ahead of
ourselves a HUGE debt of gratitude to GG and Phyllis for these recent
developments, it is not an exaggeration to say this is a game changer!

Note there are a lot of LV2 plugins that are in Distribution
repositories and some that aren't, in the case of using them with a
DAW like Ardour if they are placed on the users system in /usr/lib/lv2
/usr/local/lib/lv2 or ~./lv2 then they will automatically show up in
the host. I see you've mentioned having people install the Calf
plugins with their package manager, does this mean Cin will locate
plugins on the system by PATH now rather than bundling the plugins
internally?

A Couple of Examples of very high quality plugin sets using OpenGL and
Xlib:

A popular plugin set using OpenGL for the UI's already available in
Debian (and possibly Ubuntu): http://x42-plugins.com/x42/
A great quality set using Xlib available for download but not in a
Repository currently: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lsp-plugins/

Side note* In AV Linux all of the mentioned ones and many more are
included by default in case any AVL users are building and testing
this new Cin functionality..

Thanks again! Glen

Subject:[CinCV TNG] Audio Calf lv2 plugins WITH glitzy ui checked in
-- note build changes necessary - GG

Thanks to input/suggestions from the Mailing List and many frustrating
hours of GG coding trying to piece things together, there is now a
glitzy user interface for the Calf LV2 plugins.  Plus many more LV2
plugins work with Cinelerra's simplified text controls.

    Demo is at:  https://www.datafilehost.com/d/0c25819c [1]

New BUILD CHANGES went in -- so you MUST have the gtk-2-devel package
installed before you do a build since this is required to get the
glitzy interface.  However, if you do not want to install this, the
simplified interface is still available and you will have to use
"--without-lv2" in your configure.  Also, to actually get the Calf
lv2 plugins available for cin5 to use, you will have to install the
Calf Plugins Package.

It has been tested on Fedora, Debian 9, and Leap 42.3.  Also, was
built on an old laptop around here.

Attached is a short pdf description.  Another email will be
forthcoming to address some previous concerns.  GG/Pys
