Fair enough. Let's get rid of this feature.

It is a pity that you delete function, which after correction and upgrading
could bring optimization and speed up of processing.

* Is Cinelerra-CV-E not quite ready for replacing main version? *

*    Einar: *
* CVE may one day become CVO, when it is good enough. Future shows,
no promises. Today it is not ready.*

To close CVO as separate main branch, tо replace CVO with CVE, CGG or any
other branch would be a big strategic mistake.
A serious user, as a rule, is not a collector of features, but prefers
stability and, most importantly, *predictability*.
I know/am absolutely sure that neither CVE, no CGG, no any other
dev_branch will never be ready for real usage in production.
Because it is impossible to reconcile stability and the active
development, experimentation in the same branch.

I would like to keep the idea of existing the original CVO as a stable,
classical, conservative branch, which accumulates useful changes from other
branches after extensive testing and which does not accumulate untested
changes, experimental features convenient for a developer, but inconvenient
for many users.

IMO:
For example:
I do not like CGG's popup menu behaviour...
I do not like that CVE user can't create title on empty parts of a
track. Yes, there are some considerations here.
This is an experimental feature which protects CVE user from the
application of an effect after the end of the project..
But I prefer the classical behavior of CVO.
